THIS VACANCY IS FOR OUR SURREY BRANCH

SUMMARY OF JOB: 

• To provide hands-on care and support to service users in their own homes 
• To assist service users in maintaining their independence and quality of life 
• To ensure care is delivered in accordance with care plans 
• To work flexibly across shifts to meet service user needs 
• To always provide compassionate care that respects dignity 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST: 

• To deliver person-centred care to service users with compassion and respect 
• To assist with personal care tasks including washing, dressing, and toileting 
• To support with medication administration under supervision 
• To complete accurate care documentation including daily care notes 
• To identify and report any changes in service users' health 
• To ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures 
• To maintain service users' homes in a clean and tidy condition 
• To provide companionship and emotional support 
• To assist with meal preparation and shopping tasks 
• To use mobile technology for care recording and shift management 

COMMUNICATION AND ENGAGEMENT 

• To build positive relationships with service users and families 
• To communicate effectively with the care team 
• To report any issues or concerns promptly 
• To attend team meetings when required 
• To participate in training and development activities 
• To maintain professional boundaries at all times 
• To listen to and respect service users' wishes 

CONTINUOUS PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD) 

• To complete mandatory training including safeguarding and infection control 
• To work towards Care Certificate qualification 
• To participate in regular supervision and competency assessments 
• To engage with learning opportunities 
• To maintain up-to-date knowledge of care practices 

HUMAN RESOURCES 

• To maintain confidentiality regarding service user information 
• To work within agreed hours and shift patterns 
• To report sickness and absence according to policy 
• To wear appropriate PPE and follow infection control guidelines 
• To maintain a current DBS certificate 
• To manage own time effectively between service user visits

Additional Requirements

Security Clearance: 

• You must be able to obtain an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance to a satisfactory standard. This is essential due to the nature of working with vulnerable individuals. 

Transport and Mobility: 

• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle 
• Valid business car insurance (required when using personal vehicle for work purposes) 
• Reliable transport to travel between service users' homes across our catchment area 
• Ability to commute to various locations as part of your daily duties 

Working Pattern Flexibility: 

• Willingness and availability to work weekend shifts as part of our seven-day service provision
